Housing: Crested and Gargoyle Geckos are all arboreal so they will require a cage with height rather then ground space. We start our Crested and Gargoyle hatchlings off in medium and large critter keepers for the first month to be sure they are eating well, having bowel movements and growing as well as to reduce stress from the move and to settle in.  As they grow they will move up to the larger enclosures. Our adults are kept in 12"x12"x18",  18"x18"x18" and 18"x18"x24" Exo Terra cages depending on if it's a single adult or what size group they are in. Always make sure to provide plenty of climbing vines, branches and plants in the enclosure as well as perching areas. You want to provide plenty of locations that they can go to be away from each other if you have a group and plants to hide in. DO NOT keep male geckos together as boys will fight and are territorial so Individual cages will have to be provided for them. Anytime you keep geckos together you need to monitor them to be sure they are getting along. If you notice any female groups having fights you will need to separate them to avoid any injuries. For sub straight we use paper towels  and a humid box of loose substrate for laying. If you choose to use a loose substrate you will need to feed any live bugs in a different container or in a high wall bowl so they don't get out to prevent them from accidentally eating the substrate when grabbing the bugs. The paper towels are easy to change out and no chance of them ingesting any substrate. We would recommend anyone buying a new gecko to keep them on the paper towels to be able to monitor feeding and bowel movements as new homes can be stressful to babies causing them to go off food for up to 2 weeks till they settle in.

ALL new geckos MUST be kept in quarantine for a minimum of 60 days when bringing into a new home. This means alone in the enclosure and away from all/ any other animals. Failure in doing so will VOID any health guarantee.

Feeding:  We feed our geckos a rotation every other day of Repashy Crested Gecko Diet ( also known as CGD)  and  Pangea Fruit Mix Complete which is a powder that you mix with water to form a consistency that of a runny milkshake. A little bit of Gecko Diet goes a long way as they don't eat a lot at a time. For smaller Geckos we feed the diet in a plastic bottle cap, Sub adults/single adults in either a .5 oz cup or a milk jug lid and groups of adults are fed in 2 oz cups. We also offer calcium dusted Dubia Roaches or Crickets to all our geckos occasionally. While Gargoyles aren't big bug eaters, some times the babies will enjoy a couple once in awhile. All geckos will have times they do not eat bugs but don't worry, they have everything they need in the Gecko Diet so no bugs won't hurt them and can actually live a long life with just the Gecko Diet.

Temperature: One of the many great things about keeping these geckos is that they can thrive at room temperature, on average between 65-80 Degrees. Anything above or below can stress the gecko out and result in them dying. Babies usually do best in temps between 68-72 degrees since they are much more sensitive to the lower and higher temperatures. We like to keep our's between 70-73 degrees in winter and 74-77 in summer months.

Humidity:  Proper humidity is essential to keeping a healthy gecko. While they do not need high levels of humidity all the time they do need it for a few hours of a day, Long enough to have droplets of water on the plants/glass to drink and then dry up. We use a spray bottle and mist them one to two times a day depending on the season and how dry the air is. This will help with shedding of the skin and will also give them a source of drinking water. You can offer a bowl for drinking which must be fresh daily but more often then not you will probably notice the gecko lapping up water from a leaf or the droplets of water on the glass. We do still offer water bowls to all our geckos.
